This item for sale is the third volume of American Clocks by Tran Duy Ly. This third volume comes from the overwhelming amount of unpublished material on American clocks not included in past volumes. The book begins with a two page introduction by horologist, Tom Grimshaw on the history of American clockmaking from the handcrafted methods of 200 years ago to the early manufactured clcoks of the first half of the 19th century which is what is included mostly in this volume. Next is a 30 page section of Important Tips by Tran Duy Ly which will make any collector more informed. Vol. III is divided into two major sections, "Clocks by Type" and Clocks by Manufacturer. It also includes a chapter on newer clocks and the largest chapter in the book on Lux clocks. This book is beautifully photographed and is in a easy to use format. Hardback.
