This item for sale is a reproduction of a E Howard # 70 weight driven wall clock. This design is one of the earlier designs as it has the "ears" below the bezel on the left and right. I measured a old Howard clock that a customer brought in for restoration. This case is available in oak, walnut, cherry, and sometimes mahogany.The photos here are of a oil finished cherry clock. The case is entirely hand made, the bezels are made of 8 pieces of wood laminated together as were the origionals, and hand turned on the lathe. The bottom door has the splines on the corners as did the origionals for extra strength. The bottom glass is hand done by Lee Davis, and is done in 23 karat gold, not a cheap silk screen. Hinges and door catches are solid brass. I think the photos tell more than I can say. The case measures 31 1/4 inches tall, and the bezel is 15 1/2 inches in diameter.The movement is American made, 8 day, time only, and weight driven. The dial is made from 18 guage steel, with Roman numerals. If you want a fine clock that will last longer than you will this is the clock.
